Celebrating 50 years in masonry

In December 2025, members of the Lodge gathered to celebrate a significant and memorable milestone: Worshipful Brother John Beaven’s 50 years in Freemasonry. The evening marked half a century of dedication to the Craft and recognised John’s outstanding service and commitment over many years.

Brethren and guests enjoyed a special celebratory evening which included a talk reflecting on John’s long and distinguished Masonic journey. During the address, many of his achievements were highlighted, including the offices he has held, his steadfast support of the Lodge, and his dedication to Masonic charitable work. Particular mention was made of the guidance and encouragement he has given to newer members, helping them to develop their own understanding and appreciation of Freemasonry.

Speakers spoke warmly of John’s depth of knowledge, his reliability, and his willingness to assist wherever needed. His commitment to the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth has been evident throughout his Masonic career and has made a lasting impression on those who have had the privilege of working alongside him.

As the highlight of the evening, John was presented with a special commemorative award in recognition of his 50 years of loyal and faithful service. The presentation was met with warm applause from all present and reflected the high regard in which he is held by his fellow Brethren.

The presentation concluded in a spirit of celebration and gratitude, providing a fitting tribute to a dedicated Freemason. The Lodge extends its sincere congratulations to John Beaven on this remarkable achievement and thanks him for his many years of service to the Craft.
