I was initiated into Fitzwilliam Lodge No. 3023 in September 2025, marking the beginning of my journey in Freemasonry. Although I am still at an early stage, the experience so far has already proved to be both enjoyable and deeply rewarding.
From my very first visit, I was made to feel genuinely welcome. The encouragement, patience, and guidance shown by the brethren helped to ease any initial nerves and made the process of joining clear and relaxed. That friendly and supportive atmosphere has continued at every meeting since, creating a sense of belonging from the outset.
The ceremonies I have taken part in have been memorable and thought-provoking, offering a real appreciation of the tradition, symbolism, and values that Freemasonry represents. Each meeting provides something new to learn and reflect upon, and it is evident how much care and pride the lodge takes in maintaining its high standards.
One of the most enjoyable aspects so far has been the fellowship. Fitzwilliam Lodge brings together men from many different backgrounds, yet within the lodge there is a strong sense of equality and mutual respect. Time spent at the festive board and in informal conversation has helped build friendships that already feel well established.
I have also been impressed by the quiet but meaningful way the lodge supports charitable and community causes. Seeing this in action has reinforced my understanding that Freemasonry is not only about personal development, but also about contributing positively beyond the lodge.
As I look ahead, I do so with genuine appreciation for the welcome I have received and pride in being a member of Fitzwilliam Lodge No. 3023. I very much look forward to continuing my journey and becoming more involved in the life of the lodge.
